The “Laboratory of Atmospheric Pollution (Air Lab) is part of the institutionalized Laboratory of Environment and Circular Economy,
Department of Mechanical Engineering, School of Engineering, University of West Attica.
The purpose of (Air Lab) is twofold, Educational and Research.
As part of its educational mission, the (Air Lab) takes care of the theoretical training of the students of the Department, in cutting-edge issues related to the quality of the atmospheric environment and anti-pollution technologies that aim to reduce the pollutants emitted by industry, production and energy consumption and transport. At the same time, it ensures, through the laboratory exercises, that the students acquire all the necessary practical and technical skills that the modern scientist in the field of the quality of the atmospheric environment is required to possess.
The provided theoretical knowledge and practical training of (Air Lab) students aims to create modern Mechanical Engineering scientists, of high theoretical and technical level, capable of dealing with issues and problems related to the quality of the atmospheric environment in a professional environment.
In the context of its research activity, the (Air Lab) has a sufficient number of accredited instruments, fixed and portable (low cost), which enable it to participate in a number of demanding research actions for recording and monitoring the quality of the atmospheric environment.
